Enable the Micro Focus UFT Agent for Mozilla Firefox

Note: For the most up-to-date list of supported versions of Mozilla Firefox, see the UFT One Support Matrix.

UFT One communicates with the Micro Focus UFT Agent Firefox Extension to test Web applications running in Mozilla Firefox. This topic describes how to install and enable the extension in your Firefox browser.

Prerequisite

Your browser policy must allow you to install browser extensions. Otherwise, see Known Issues - Mozilla Firefox.

Enable loading the Micro Focus UFT Agent extension automatically

Select Set Chrome, Chromium Edge, Firefox options when you install UFT One. For more information, see Set Chrome, Chromium Edge, Firefox options.

This option updates your browser policy and adds the extension to the installation list of Firefox. When you open Firefox for the first time, the Micro Focus UFT Agent extension is automatically loaded.

Firefox versions and UFT One extension support

The Micro Focus UFT Agent Extension for Firefox is supported from Firefox versions 57 and higher.

Testing on earlier versions of Firefox requires installing the legacy Functional Testing Agent extension. Mozilla no longer supports legacy extensions, as described in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Archive/Add-ons/Overlay_Extensions. Therefore, UFT One's legacy agent is supported only on Firefox ESR versions 38-53.
