Register Browser Control Utility

This utility enables you to define the path of the application hosting the browser control. After registration, UFT One will recognize Web objects in your application when recording or running tests.

To run the utility's user interface

Select one of the following:

  • Start > All Programs > Micro Focus > Micro Focus UFT One > Tools > Register New Browser Control
  • <UFT One installation folder>\bin\SettingNewBrowserControlApplication.exe
To run the utility from a command line

 

Open a command window and run one of the following commands:

To register: Run <UFT One installation folder>\bin\SettingNewBrowserControlApplication.exe/register "<path\applicaiton.exe>"

To unregister: Run <UFT One installation folder>\bin\SettingNewBrowserControlApplication.exe/unregister "<path\applicaiton.exe>"
Important information
  • After you register an application hosting a browser control using this utility, you must restart UFT One before you test your application.
  • You must run this tool as an administrator or with UAC disabled. For details about disabling UAC, see Known issues - UFT One programs.

Tip: To run a command line as an administrator, use Run as administrator to open the command window.
