Web Remote Connections Pane (Options Dialog Box > GUI Testing Tab)

This pane enables you to define connection information for controls in your Web application developed with advanced Web technologies, including Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF), Electron, JxBrowser, NW.js, and Microsoft Edge WebView2.

Access the Remote Connections pane

To access the Web Remote Connections pane, first do one of the following:

  • Ensure that a GUI test, action, or component is in focus in the document pane.
  • In the Solution Explorer, select a GUI test or component node or one of its child nodes.

Then, select Tools > Options > GUI Testing tab > Web > Remote Connection node.

Note: Clicking the Restore Factory Defaults button resets all product settings, including ALM connection information, the recent files list, and anything defined in the Options dialog box, such as startup options, UI layout, GUI, API, and BPT testing options, remote connection credentials, and more.

  3. Set the framework.

    • If you are testing objects developed using NW.js, in the Framework column select NW.js.

    • If you are testing objects developed using Microsoft Edge WebView2, in the Framework column select WebView2.

    • For other frameworks, leave this field defined as Default.

Add as many connections as you need. To remove a connection, select it in the table, and click Delete .
