Set file content checkpoint options
Relevant for: GUI tests and scripted GUI components
This dialog box enables you to configure how a file checkpoint is performed. When a file content checkpoint step runs, it locates the checkpoint text within the line by comparing all of the text on that line. The options in this dialog box instruct OpenText Functional Testing how to treat the text on every line in the file in which one or more checkpoints are specified for a single checkpoint object. (You can create multiple checkpoints in a single file—all within a single checkpoint object.

How do these options affect the checkpoint?
Ignore spaces |
Ignores extraneous spaces on the same line as the checked text when comparing the expected content with the actual content. This is useful when there might potentially be one or more spaces in the text preceding or following the checked text, and you do not want the checkpoint to fail because of this. Note: This setting does not affect missing spaces, which are treated as non-matching text. |
Match case |
Conducts a case-sensitive check of all the text on the same line as the checked text when comparing the expected content with the actual content. |
Verify page count |
Compares the number of pages in the checkpoint object with the number of pages in the file generated or accessed during the run session. When this option is selected, the checkpoint fails if the page count comparison is not identical. Note: This setting is ignored during a preview comparison. |
Fail checkpoint for additional/missing lines |
Compares the number of lines in the checkpoint object with the number of lines in the file generated or accessed during the run session. When this option is selected, the checkpoint fails if one or more lines was added or removed in the file being compared. Note: This setting is ignored during a preview comparison. |
