Capture Objects in your Application
Relevant for: GUI tests and components
What is the Capture Toolbar?
The Capture toolbar enables you to learn all the objects from a specified application window or a selected area of an application window while recording a test.
When you should use the Capture Toolbar
You should use the Capture toolbar when you want to learn objects from your application while recording. By default, when recording, OpenText Functional Testing only learns the objects on which you perform actions. By using the Capture toolbar, you can learn all of the objects.
The learned objects are saved to the local object repository (which can be exported to a shared object repository later).
To access | While recording, in the Record Toolbar, click the Capture button or select Tools > Capture. |
What do you want to know?
No. In the Capture toolbar, you can select an entire application window or page by selecting Capture, or you can select a designated area by selecting Capture Area.
Possibly. You can specify the level to which you want OpenText Functional Testing to capture objects by clicking the Filter button and selecting the level of detail for learned object.
