What is the Run tab?

This tab enables you to instruct OpenText Functional Testing to run only one iteration on the called action, to run iterations on all rows in the Data pane, or to run iterations only for a certain row range in the Data pane.

When should you use the Run tab?

Use this tab when you have data entered in the Data pane and you want to instruct OpenText Functional Testing how to use this data during a test run.

To access	In the Action Call Properties Dialog Box, select the Run tab.
Important information	If you run multiple iterations on an action, the action must begin and end at the same point in the application, so that the application is in the proper location and state to run the next iteration of the action. This tab applies to individual action calls and refers to the rows in the action's data sheet. You can set the Run properties for an entire test (setting iterations for rows on the Global data sheet) from the Run pane in the Test Settings dialog box.

Which option should I select?

Each of the options in this tab enables very different behavior from the test run:

Run one iteration only: This runs only one iteration of the test, using just the first row in the Data pane sheet. Therefore, if you need to test multiple different values, do not select this option.
Run on all data rows: This option runs one iteration per row in the Data pane, enabling you to run the application multiple times with different data.
Run from data row __ to data row __: This option runs multiple iterations, but beginning on a selected row and ending on a selected row. As a result, if you have specific data with which you want to run the test, select this option.

The first row in the data table contains the column names. Therefore, the data row number is always 1 lower than the row number in the data table display.

For example, in the table below, Alex is listed in data row number 3, which is table row number 4.
