Testing Your Support for Running Tests

After implementing and testing the methods required for OpenText Functional Testing to recognize objects in an application, you can test the basic functionality of your Testing Agent.

To test your support for running tests:

  1. Ensure that the Testing Agent and OpenText Functional Testing are closed.

  2. Install the updated Testing Agent.

  3. Open OpenText Functional Testing and make sure that the Testing Agent is launched. (For more information see steps 2 to 4 in Testing that your testing environment is recognized .)

  4. Run an application that contains objects of the types you defined in the testing environment.

  5. Create a test that performs test object methods on the test objects for which you designed support. For more information on creating a test, see step 5 in Testing that your testing environment is recognized .

  6. Run the test you created and verify that it performs the test object methods correctly on the application.

  7. In the run results report, verify that the icons used for your test object classes are the ones that you defined in the testing environment XML.
