Licensing fallback mechanism (Windows)
This topic describes what license is consumed when the license edition configured on the UFT Developer machine is not available.
Note: The licensing fallback is relevant only when working with concurrent licenses on Windows, and is not enabled by default.
When starting UFT Developer, the AutoPass License Server attempts to consume the exact license edition configured on the UFT Developer machine, such as the UFT One or UFT Developer license.
To modify this configuration on your Windows machine, see Define license consumption behavior. Do this if you are concerned about the availability of the license edition configured on your UFT Developer machine.
UFT Developer consumes licenses in the following order, starting from the license edition configured on the UFT Developer machine:
Example:

If the UFT Developer license is configured on your UFT Developer machine, but there is no available UFT Developer license on the License Server, UFT Developer tries to consume a UFT One One license.
In turn, if no UFT One One license is available, UFT Developer tries to consume a UFT One Ultimate license.

If the UFT One Runtime Engine license is configured on your UFT Developer machine but there is no available UFT One Runtime Engine license, UFT Developer tries to consume a UFT Developer license.
In turn, if there is no available UFT Developer license, UFT Developer tries to consume a UFT One One license, and so on.
