Passive Mode FTP

In the passive mode FTP protocol, the client initiates both connections to the server. This contrasts with active mode FTP, where the client creates just the initial connection, and then waits to hear from the server on the next port.

Passive mode solves the problem of firewalls filtering out the incoming port connection data from the server.
