Buffer Manipulation Functions

Maps a field name to a field identifier.

FLDID32 lrt_Fldid32( char *name );

name The field name to map.

The lrt_Fldid32 function provides a run-time translation of a field name to its field identifier. The first invocation causes space to be dynamically allocated for the field tables and the tables to be loaded.

Return Values

If the function succeeds, it returns a FLDID32 corresponding to its field name parameter. FLDID32is the mapped field identifier.

The function returns BADFLDID on error, and sets Ferror to indicate the error condition.

Parameterization

The following argument can be parameterized using standard parameterization: name

Example

In the following example, the lrt_Fldid function specifies the ACCOUNT_ID and ACCOUNT_IDS field identifiers. The example for lrt_Fldid32 is identical except for the function name.

Copy code
int rc;
lr_output_message("id is %s", lrt_Fname(8302));
lr_output_message("name is %d", lrt_Fldid("ACCOUNT_ID"));
lr_output_message("name is %d", lrt_Fldid("ACCOUNT_IDS"));
rc = lrt_getFerror();
lr_output_message("error code is %d", rc);
lr_output_message("error message is %s", lrt_Fstrerror(rc));
