Map application components to resources

Component processes are run by Deployment Automation agents. After you add a component to the application, define where to deploy component artifacts by selecting a resource (agent) or a resource group.

One instance of a component process runs for each resource mapped to a component in the target environment.

To map application components to a resource:

  1. In Deployment Automation, navigate to Applications > [select application].

  2. Select the Environments tab.

  3. Click the environment name to which you want to map components and select View Details from the menu.

  4. Select the Component Mapping tab.

  5. If the application has several components associated with it, select the one you want to use from the component list in the Mappings pane. Each component associated with this application can be mapped to a different resource.

  6. To associate resources with the selected component, click Add and select one of the following:

    • To map one or more resources to all components, select Add Resource To All Components.
    • To map one or more resource groups to all components, select Add Resource Group To All Components. For details about creating resource groups, see Create resource groups.
    • To map multiple resources to all components, select Add All Resources and Groups to All Components.

    • To map multiple resources to specific components, select Add All Resources and Groups to Selected Components.
