New Baseline dialog box

Use the New Baseline dialog box to create a baseline.

Create new baseline: General tab

On the General tab, identify the baseline and its scope.

Create baseline from design part

Enter the top-level design part for the new baseline, or click the Browse button to find it.

The new baseline includes items from all design parts that are owned/used by the design part you select.

If you have selected a design part before selecting this dialog box then this design part is displayed. Otherwise, if you have set a default design part for your project, that design part is displayed.

Product

Select the product associated with this baseline.

The default is the product for the current project.

Baseline ID

Enter a unique name or label for the baseline.

The name must be unique within the product.

Maximum length is 128 characters.

Type

Select a baseline type from the list.

  • Defaults to the first type in the list.

  • The baseline types are defined in the Administration Console.

  • If user-defined attributes exist for the selected type, use the Attributes tab to view and change them. See Attributes tab/page.

Template

Select a baseline template.

Select a template if you are creating a release baseline or an archive baseline.

Leave this field blank for design baselines.

Part Levels

Select All, or select From Top Level To and enter the number of part levels to include.

For example, enter "1" to include only items related directly to the selected design part. Enter "2" to include items related to the next immediate subordinate design part.

Project/Stream Selector

Select Use global or Use current.

The project/stream determines which item revisions are available for inclusion in the baseline.

If you select Use global, the top-level design part determines which item revisions are available for inclusion in the baseline.

Product

Select the product whose items you want to include in the baseline.

The default is the product for the project/stream. The product does not have to match the product ID for the baseline you are creating.

ID

Select the project or stream.

The default is the current project/stream.

Create new baseline: Relationships tab

On the Relationships tab, specify any requests or requirements to relate to the baseline, and set the options for which requests are to be included.

Select this option if you want to include item revisions based on related requirements.

Requests

Select this option if you want to include item revisions based on related requests.

Related requests/requirements selector

Enter the specification of the requests/requirements, or click the browse button to find them.

Traverse Relationships

Keep this option selected to include item revisions for all requests related to the listed Dimensions CM requests.

Include closed requests

Select this option to include items related to closed requests.

Include item revisions related as Info to requests

Select this option to include items related as Info to the requests.
