Create a work area
Create a new work area when you want to define a location to be used for the item files for a project or stream.
PRIVILEGES: Create Work Areas.
Note: When assigning a work area to your project/stream, you need to assign the ID of the work area and not just the file path.
To create a work area:

In the web client, in the My Current Project/Stream view, select the Work Areas node in the navigation pane, and click the New Area button. The New Work Area dialog box opens.

For ID, enter a name for the area.

Enter a description.

Select a Network node from the list and enter the directory to be used as the root folder for the area on this node, or browse to select the folder.
Note: If the directory does not exist, it is not created until files are fetched to that folder.

Enter the Node Username and Node Password for the node where the area is located, to access the item files in that area.

Enter the Dimensions CM user that owns this area.

Grant permission to users and groups to access the area:

To add a user, select the name in the Available Users/Groups list, and click the Forward button >> to move it to the Users/Groups granted permission to access this area list.

To remove a user, select the name in the Users/Groups granted permission to access this area list, and click the Backward button <<.

Click OK.
