Vuser load distribution

You can distribute your Vusers across several different cloud locations or machines.

Distribution logic

OpenText Core Performance Engineering distributes Vusers for each script based on the location configured in the Load profile page for the script, whether on cloud or on-premises.

A cloud‑based load generator cannot run more than a single script, but a single script can be distributed on several load generators, depending on the number of Vusers associated with the script and the capacity for the protocol type. For details, see Cloud LG infrastructure capacity.

By default, the load is distributed evenly over the load generators. The Vuser balancing option can only be turned off by submitting a service request.

We recommend that you view the Vuser distribution planned for your test. To do this, click the Run preview button. For details, see Run setting previews.

To customize the Vuser distribution, click Load distributionLoad distribution in the sidebar and select the appropriate tab: Cloud or On-premises. For details, see Deploy on cloud LGs or Deploy with on-premises LGs.

Note:

  • The Vuser balancing option is not supported if at least one of the scripts, on‑premises or on cloud, is configured with the Advanced scheduling mode.

  • The Vuser balancing option is not based on Round-robin provisioning. This means that the machines are only balanced after all Vusers of the script have started the duration time, and not during ramp up.

  • If you are a trial user, only AWS locations are available as cloud locations.
