Phases

Phases represent the current state of an item. As you work on items, advance them from phase to phase.

Overview

Entities can have primary and secondary phase transitions. These transitions are determined by your administrator, who customizes workflows for the various entities. For details, see Workflow.

Change an item's phase

You can change an item's phase in the Details view or the Preview pane in a grid.

Method Steps
Details tab

To change an item's phase in the details view:

  1. Open the item. The item's current phase is displayed in the Phase field.

  2. To advance the item's primary transition, click Move to <next phase>.

  3. To advance the item's secondary transition options, click the down arrow and select a phase from the list.

  4. Click Save on the Details tab.
Preview tab

To change an item's phase in the Preview pane of a grid:

  1. Locate the item in a grid.

  2. Hover your mouse over the item and select its checkbox.

  3. In the toolbar, click the Show preview button to open the Preview pane.
  4. Click the Move to <next phase> to advance the item's primary transition, or click the down arrow to select a secondary transition choice.
