Set up Resource Management

This section discusses the settings and entities that admin should configure before using Resource Management. This setup work includes the following:

Set up Resource Management validations

Configure the fields in Resource Management by modifying the relevant validations.

Set time period views Configure the system default settings for time periods and resource effort displayed in staffing profiles and resource pools.
Set up roles and skills Set up roles and skills. Roles and skills can be associated with resources, staffing profile positions and work plan tasks, helping define resource requirements. Roles can also determine cost rates when calculating labor costs.
Set up a regional calendar A regional calendar sets the default working and nonworking days for an organization unit, resource, or project. You can set up a default regional calendar for resources in the system or assign individual calendars to each resource.

Configure requests for Resource Management

If you have Demand Management licenses and want to include requests as work items to be tracked in Resource Management, you need to associate work item fields with request types.

Set up notifications for Resource Management Configure default notifications for all staffing profiles and resource pools in the system.
Configure Resource Allocation Management page settings

Configure the display settings on the Resource Allocation Management page, and specify the calendar for calculating resource effort in the FTE unit.
