Install the OpenText PPM-QC integration tool

Integration requires installing the OpenText PPM-QC Integration Tool on a Windows machine that can open HTTP connections to the PPM Server and to the QC server.

Caution: The OpenText PPM-Quality Center Integration Tool must be used only for integration with Quality Center 10.00. It cannot detect integrations that were previously established with ALM instances, and any existing integration with an ALM instance prevails if you try to use the integration tool for that integration. If the OpenText PPM-Quality Center Integration Tool was previously installed, do not try to use it to configure integration with ALM.

To install this tool:

  1. If an earlier version of the OpenText PPM-QC Integration Tool was installed, uninstall it. See Uninstalling the Integration Tool.

  2. Copy the OpenText PPM-QC Integration Tool setup.exe file to a Windows machine that can open HTTP connections to the PPM Server and to the QC server. This file is located in the PPM Server at:

    <PPM_Home>/integration/mac/ppmqcintegrationtool

where <PPM_Home> represents the path where your OpenText PPM instance is installed. For example: xyzserver/E/PPMServer.

  3. Double-click the setup.exe file to launch the InstallShield wizard.

By default, the tool gets installed in the C:/Program Files/OpenText/PPM Center-Quality Center Integration Tool directory.

  4. Follow the instructions in the wizard. When the installation completes, do not launch the OpenText PPM-QC Integration Tool yet. Proceed to configure a QC project for the integration. For more information, see Configuring a QC Project for the Integration.

Uninstalling the Integration Tool

If you want to uninstall the OpenText PPM-Quality Center Integration Tool (for example, to be able to run the tool from another Windows machine only), select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and follow the instructions on the screen.

You use the tool to create an initial mapping between OpenText PPM fields and Quality Center fields (or to revise an existing mapping). Unless you need to install a later version of the tool, before you uninstall the tool, remember to use it to deploy the mapping to both OpenText PPM and Quality Center simultaneously.
