Viewing Project Unexpected Effort
Time that is logged against your project or the tasks in Time Management by non-assigned resources is considered contributions (or unexpected effort) in PPM.
When contributions happen?
Contributions happen when your project use Time Management to track actuals, and

"All resources" are allowed to log time against the project, or
In this case, the unassigned resources add the project in the time sheets, and log time for the project.

"Project resources" are allowed to log time against the project.
In this case, the unassigned resources add the tasks to which they are not assigned in the time sheets, and log time for the tasks.
How to view contributions?
To filter tasks that have contributions, use the Filter for > Tasks with contributions option in any work plan non-Quick view.

When time is logged on the task level, the contributors and their effort are displayed in the Task Details page > Resource Tab.

When time is logged on the summary task level, the contributors and their effort are displayed in the Task Details page > Contributions tab.
- When time is logged on the project level, the contributors and their effort are displayed in the root task's Task Details page > Contributions tab.
