What's New in PPM 9.62
This section provides an overview of the features that were introduced or enhanced in PPM 9.62.
Portfolio Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Portfolio Management module.
New view: Roadmap in portfolio backlog |
Roadmap view was introduced to portfolio backlog. It gives you a quick view of schedule-related information of the portfolio contents. For details, see Roadmap View. |
Edit backlog items directly in portfolio backlog |
You can edit backlog items directly in portfolio backlog Plain List view and Board view, without having to open the details page. For details, see Plain List View and Board View. |
New access grant: Create Portfolios |
The Create Portfolios access grant was added.

Hide portfolio Contents and Timeline tab |
PPM adds two parameters for administrators to hide the Contents and Timeline tabs in portfolio details page:

Chatbot enhancements
The following enhancements were added to PPM Chatbot.
Enable Chatbot to send notifications |
You can configure PPM Chatbot to send notifications of various events. PPM provides two notification templates ready for use. You can also create new templates for Chatbot to send notifications of other events. For details, see Configure Chatbot to send notifications . |
Enable users to process workflow steps in Chatbot |
You can configure a decision workflow step, so the recipients can act on the workflow step in Chatbot. For details, see Enabling Users to Act on Decision Workflow Steps in Chatbot . |
Customize Chabot welcome sentence | You can customize the welcome sentence that Chatbot sends to a user. See (Optional) Customize welcome sentence. |
Team Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Team Management module.
Customize Team overview tab |

Show disabled teams |
You can show disabled teams in the My Teams and All Teams page by clicking the "Show Disabled Teams" checkbox. For details, see Set up a team. |
Confirmation pops up when adding resources that are already added to other teams |
When you add resources that are already in other teams to your team, a confirmation window will pop up to remind you that if you add these resources to your team, you will also remove them and clear their capacity from those teams. For details, see Set up a team. |
Install enhancement
You can install PPM 9.62 in the following ways:

Dashboard enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Dashboard module.
Self-Service Portlet |
A new portlet type: Self-Service Portlet was introduced. It can be used in the Portfolio module. It gives you the full flexibility to define what data to present and how it is presented. For details, see Set up self-service portlets. |
All the rows and columns in the revamped pivot table portlet support filter |
All the rows and columns in the revamped pivot table can be used as paging filters. Click the Filter pane on the right of the pivot table to select the filters. |
Revamped pivot table portlet ignores pivot dataset limits |
Revamped pivot table portlets will ignore the pivot dataset limits controlled by the parameters in the server.conf file if the Ignore Pivot Dataset Limits feature toggle is turned on. For details, see Control the size and number of unique values in pivot tables. |
Administration enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Administration module.
Allow PPM users to reset password |

Upload files to PPM server |
You can upload files to PPM server from the Administration Console if the PPM server is running in Development mode. For details, see Upload files. |
Track time of last successful and failed logon attempts | Since this version, PPM tracks the time of the last successful and failed logon attempts. To view the information, click the resource icon in the upper-right corner of the PPM page. |
kSync.sh improvements |
The following enhancements were added to kSync.sh:

Redeploy "content" and "customization" folder before server restart |
When you restart a PPM server node from the Administration Console, you can redeploy the "content" and "customization" folder before server restart. For details, see Restart a server node. |
Check filesystem version against database version before startup |
PPM center compares the filesystem version against the database version before starting. If the filesystem version is different than the database version, PPM will fail to start. For details, see Startup checks. |
Program Management enhancements
The following enhancement was added to the Program Management module.
Exclude finished programs when searching for programs |
The radio button Included Finished Programs was added to the Search Programs page. By default, when you search for programs, the finished programs are excluded from the search results. If you call web services to search for programs, you can select to exclude the finished programs from the search results. For details, see Search for programs and searchProgram. |
Project Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Project Management module.
Manually enter Scheduled Effort in the work plan Quick view |
You are now able to manually enter Schedule Effort for a leaf task in the work plan Quick view when the option "Controlling Scheduled Effort Manually" is selected in the task details page. |
Use Rest API to override project health |
You can now use Rest API to override the project health. For details, see Interactive REST API Help. |
Resource Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Resource Management module.
Export Staffing Profile in Costs view |
Previously, when you export the staffing profile in Costs view, the position demand and assignment were displayed in efforts in the exported Excel. Now, the position demand and assignment are displayed in costs in the exported Excel. The costs are displayed in the currency you selected in the staffing profile Costs view. |
Add Resource Calendar and Resource Information pages for a specific pool to My Link | If you are on the Resource Calendar or Resource Information page for a specific resource, and add the page to My Link, the page link will remember the resource. Next time you open the page from My Link, you do not have to specify the resource again. |
Time Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Time Management module.
Show Total Effort in My Time Sheets portlet |
The Total Effort column was added to My Time Sheets portlet. It enables you to view the total effort of each time sheet without having to go to the details page. |
Use Rest API to get a resource's calendar |
You can use Rest API to get the calendar of a certain resource. |
Use Rest API to cancel time sheet |
You can use Rest API to cancel an unsubmitted time sheet. |
Use Rest API to search for work items of a given type | You can use Rest API to search for work items of a given type. |
Demand Management enhancements
The following enhancements were added to the Demand Management module.
Create Requests from Quick Edit Page |
You can create a request from the Quick Edit page. For details, see Create requests. |
UI rule to set field values | A new UI rule was introduced to Request Type. It enables you to read token values from URL parameters and set them to the corresponding request fields. |
Financial Management enhancements
The following enhancement was added to the Financial Management module.
Disable editing costs and benefits in base currency
If you turn off the feature toggle "Allow Users to Edit Costs and Benefits in Base Currency", users can only edit financial summary costs and benefits in local currency. See Add and edit costs and View, add, and edit benefits.
Deprecation
The following item was deprecated.
The DMS_SECURE_FILE_EXTENSIONS_WHITE_LIST
parameter was removed. Use the DMS_SECURE_FILE_EXTENSIONS_ALLOW_LIST
parameter instead.
If you configured the values in the DMS_SECURE_FILE_EXTENSIONS_WHITE_LIST
parameter before the upgrade, you need to add the values in the new parameter in order to upload the desired types of files to PPM after the upgrade.
