View portfolio dependencies

Understanding the dependencies associated with portfolio contents helps portfolio managers make better prioritization and scheduling decisions.

Portfolio dependency relationships

A portfolio epic may have dependencies on:

  • Other portfolio epics in the same portfolio
  • Portfolio epics in other portfolios
  • Portfolio epics and features in the system

When a portfolio epic is dependent on another item, no action is allowed on the portfolio epic until the dependent item is closed. For details, see Add dependencies to portfolio epics.

The dependent items are considered portfolio dependencies and are viewable from the following tabs:

  • Dependencies: Displays dependencies associated with all contents in a portfolio.
  • Contents: Displays dependencies for each portfolio content.
