MyWork Web Dashboard
MyWork Web Dashboard is a modern web-based application that provides the following features:
- MyWork Perspective
- Global Search
These features are also available in StarTeam Cross-Platform Client (CPC). However, MyWork Web Dashboard provides additional capabilities and ease of working using a web browser.
Features overview
MyWork Web Dashboard enhances the user experience through a browser interface. Below are the key features and exclusions.
MyWork Web Dashboard:
- Supports StarTeam URLs that can be opened using the CPC.
- Is localized for all the locales supported by StarTeam.
- Does not support folder-based filtering.
- Supports editing a limited set of properties of items for the responsible user. Currently, the primary descriptor (Synopsis, Name), Responsibility, and Status are the only editable properties.
-
Full capability of creating new Change Requests, and editing Change Requests by selecting the Edit button from the Action column. Edit functionality matches standard Cross-Platform Client functionality, including Built-in workflow model and custom fields editing.
-
Attachments can also be uploaded with a maximum size limit of 100MB.
- Prevents updates for projects configured to use Alternate Property Editors (APEs). This ensures that Workflow is not compromised when updates are made from MyWork Web Dashboard.
- Does not support Single Sign-on/Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Is only supported for Windows version of the StarTeam server.
- Is architected using the new StarTeam server REST API framework. The StarTeam server is expected to be listening to the configured REST port. This port is dynamically picked up during the StarTeam server startup.
Note: In case of a port conflict, open the starteam-server-configs.xml file, and change the Server REST API port value in the following option: <option name="ServerRESTAPIPort" value="59209"/>
- Supports unlimited number of projects. CPC version of MyWork currently supports a maximum of 5 projects.
- Supports Change Requests, Tasks, and Stories only. Custom type support will be added in a future release.
- Supports multiple server configurations. Displays a unified list of items for the responsible user from all the servers.
Note: MyWork Web Dashboard matches user accounts on all the servers based on the sign-in name, email address, and a full name.
Configure MyWork Web Dashboard
Prerequisites
Below are major prerequisites for configuring MyWork Web Dashboard:
- The StarTeam Web Service should be up and running. The Service should be restarted every time a StarTeam server configuration is changed.
- Ensure that you have the Change user/operation time rights to configure the Search. You can grant these rights in Server Administration > Tools > Account > Server Access Rights.
Note: If the Search is enabled in the StarTeam server configurations, it becomes available on MyWork Web Dashboard automatically. For details, see Search Index Configuration.
- Ensure that you have the named user license. This license type prevents logging out due to inactivity timeout (if set).
Access and sign in
When MyWork Web Dashboard is configured, you can access it using the following URL: http://<StarTeam server machine hostname>:9090/MyWork.
Note: 9090 is the default port of the StarTeam Web Service. The port can be changed.
Sign in to MyWork Web Dashboard using your StarTeam or Directory Services account credentials.
The web browser session is kept active based on the inactivity timeout that is configured on the server. When the timeout expires, you have to sign in to the application again.
Configure the data time range
By default, MyWork Web Dashboard displays the data modified over the last year.
You can modify the start time value in the following properties file:
<Starteam server install>\WebServer\webapps\MyWork\WEB-INF\classes\application.properties
#Query MyWork data since number of months starteam.server.MyWorkStartTime=12
Note: The required value is the number of months.
Supported browsers
MyWork Web Dashboard currently supports the latest versions of:
