TLS-based encryption

StarTeam 17.2 supports TLS-based encryption to provide communication security. The TLS protocol is implemented using OpenSSL 1.1.1 and requires setting up digital certificate for the server. StarTeam TLS implementation does not require client certificates.

To support backward compatibility, Starteam 17.2 clients will continue to support all previous TCP/IP protocols - the SSL protocols, as well as the non -secure TCP protocol. TLS connections will use a separate port and are only compatible with 17.2 or higher clients. It is important to note that if customers intend to use multiple ports, they should work with their IT group to open the new port.

For details, see Enabling TLS secure sockets protocol in StarTeam Server .

In addition, we've added support for secure ActiveMQ MPX connections using TLS. For more details, see Configuring ActiveMQ MPX with secure protocols SSL/TLS .

StarTeam Pull Request

StarTeam 17.0 introduced code review capabilities using Pulse. This exciting technology is helping teams to continuously examine the health and quality of their changes and decide if the changes are ready to be merged or released: Team members can not only collaborate to conduct peer reviews of code changes but also view recent activity in projects and views.

StarTeam 17.1 extended the code review functionality to cross view (VCM Promote, Rebase or Replicate) change packages. Administrator are able to control whether the code reviews are mandatory before change packages can actually be committed. Additionally StarTeam GIT Client was enhanced to support Pull Request capabilities.

17.2 CPC release now supports Native Pull Request. StarTeam users can choose to merge their changes by using VCM or by creating a Pull Request and merge their changes after a code review in Pulse.

For more information on how to configure Pulse, see Set up Pulse.
