Relevant for: GUI tests only

This pane enables you to determine how OpenText Functional Testing runs GUI tests and components. For additional run options, see Run Sessions Pane (Options Dialog Box > General Tab).

Run mode

Define run mode settings to instruct OpenText Functional Testing how to run your test or component.

Debug mode (default)

Runs your test or component with the execution arrow displayed to the left of each step or statement as it is performed.

If the test contains multiple actions, the tree in the Keyword View Item column expands to display the steps, and the Editor displays the script, of the currently running action.

Delay each step execution by. Specify the time in milliseconds that OpenText Functional Testing should wait before running each consecutive step (up to a maximum of 10000 ms.).

Fast mode

Runs your test or component without the execution arrow displayed to the left of the Keyword View or Editor (for tests) and does not expand the item tree or display the script of each action as it runs.

This option requires fewer system resources.

Note: When running a test set from ALM, tests or components are automatically run in Fast mode, even if Debug mode is selected.
