TruClient - Web protocol

The TruClient - Web protocol enable you to test web applications. The TruClient engine records your actions and creates a script in real time, presented in a graphical, user-friendly interface.

Introduction to TruClient

TruClient scripts are developed using the TruClient engine, which has its own unique interface. The TruClient interface consists of two windows: A browser window, and the TruClient Development window. As you perform the actions you want to record in the browser window, the TruClient engine generates corresponding script steps, which appear in real time in the TruClient Development window. The script steps are presented graphically, in plain English (rather than lines of code, as in other protocols).

When you have finished recording, you can modify and enhance the script by editing the elements of a step, dragging and dropping steps to reorder them, and adding standard VuGen functionality such as parameters and transactions. You can also integrate JavaScript code and APIs into the script.

TruClient protocols

Each of the TruClient protocols is suited to a particular load testing environment.

TruClient - Web	Testing Web applications in TruClient Browser or Chromium browser.
TruClient 2.0 - Web	Testing Web applications in your locally installed version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser, using next-generation TruClient capabilities. For details, see TruClient 2.0 - Web protocol.
TruClient - Native Mobile	Testing native mobile applications virtually on Android and iOS devices, using the TruClient - OpenText Functional Testing Lab integration. For details, see TruClient - Native Mobile protocol.
TruClient - Mobile Web	Testing Web applications designed for mobile devices, using TruClient Browser. For details, see TruClient - Mobile Web protocol. Caution: TruClient - Mobile Web protocol will be deprecated in a coming version. We recommend using TruClient - Web protocol instead.
