Create component integrator pools
You can create and modify component integrator pools and add component integrators to them.
For an overview of component integrators, see Manage component integrators.
Create a component integrator pool
When a component integrator connects to the server, it is automatically added to the default pool. You can create your own pools and add component integrators to them.
Note: To create and manage component integrator pools, you need a Web UI role with the Component Integrators permission. Administrators and Configuration Engineers have this permission by default. For details, see Web UI roles and UI security.
To create a pool of component integrators:
-
In Deployment Automation, go to Management > Component Integrators.
-
Select the Pools tab.
-
In the Pools tab, click Create.
-
In the Create Component Integrator Pool dialog box, enter a unique name and an optional description for the pool.
-
Click Save.
After creating the pool, add component integrators to it.
Add component integrators to a pool
After a component integrator connects to the server, it is displayed in the user interface, and you can include it in one or more component integrator pools.
To add a component integrator to a pool:
-
In Deployment Automation, go to Management > Component Integrators and select the Pools tab.
-
In the list of pools, click a pool's name to open the pool.
-
On the pool's page, click Add Component Integrators.
-
In the Adding Component Integrators dialog box, select one or more component integrators, and click Add.
For details on how to assign a component integrator pool to a component, see Create components.
Modify or delete component integrator pools
You can change a pool's name and description, and remove component integrators from the pool. Delete the pool if you no longer need it.
Note: You cannot edit or delete the default pool.
To modify a component integrator pool:
-
In Deployment Automation, go to Management > Component Integrators and select the Pools tab. A list of pools is displayed.
-
To change a pool's name or description, click Edit next to the pool.
-
To remove a component integrator from the pool, click the name of the pool. On the pool's page, click Remove next to the relevant integrator and confirm.
-
To delete the pool, in the Pools tab, click Remove next to the pool and confirm. Deleting a pool releases its component integrators but doesn't delete them.
