Product Definitions main window

This topic describes the areas and options of the Product Definitions main window in the Administration Console.

About the main window

The Product Definitions main window contains the following areas:

Menu area Contains the toolbar.
Navigation area Enables you to view, filter, and select from a list of product definitions.
Content area Displays details about the selected product definition, or a summary of all products.

Product Definitions menu area

The Product Definitions menu area contains the toolbar with buttons for creating or deleting a product:

Button Description
Add a new product.
Delete one or more products.

Product Definitions: navigation area

The Product Definitions navigation pane displays the products that exist in the base database.

You can perform the following operations:

  • Select a product to view its details in the content area, and perform actions on the product.

  • To view a summary of all products in the content area, select the top-level product icon.

Product Definitions content area

When you select a product in the navigation pane, the Product Definitions content pane displays product information:

  • Product name and description.

  • Design part variant and part change status (PCS).

  • Who created the product and when, and who made the latest updates and when.

To edit a product, click the Edit button in the content area.

When you select the top-level product icon in the navigation pane, you can do the following in the content pane:

  • Select a product to edit or delete it. To select all products on the page, click Select All .

  • Print the list of products.

  • Save the list of products as comma-separated values.

  • Sort the products by clicking the column headings.
