View users and roles for a design part

You can view the role assignments for a design part.

PRIVILEGES: View Other User's Privileges for the product that owns the design part.

To view users and roles for a design part:

  1. In the My Current Project/Stream navigation window, select Parts and Items.

  2. Select a design part.

  3. In the menu, select Part > User Roles and Privileges.

  4. To view which users are assigned to a particular role for this design part, click the Role Assignments tab. The following information is displayed:

    Field Description

    Role

    The roles assigned to this design part.

    User Name

    The user ID of the person or persons with this role.

    Capability

    Displays whether the user has the Primary (P), Secondary (S), or Leader (L) role capability for the design part.

    You can set up these responsibilities in the Administration Console. For details, see Set up the process model.

    Role Type

    Displays the source of the role assignment:

    • Propagated. Indicates the assignment was made at a higher level design part.

    • Assigned. Indicates the role was assigned at this design part.

    Design Part

    Displays the design part at which the role assignment was made.

  5. To view which privileges are enabled, click the Privileges tab. The following information is displayed:

  6. If you have the View Other User's Privileges privilege, you can select the user whose privileges you want to view from the User list.

  7. To view the rules that apply to a privilege, select the privilege.

    8. The details are displayed in the Rule(s) Applied box.

  8. Click Close.
