Relate project to other objects

You can relate a project/stream to objects such as items, requests, baselines, or other projects.

Attach a project or baseline as subproject

Attach a project or baseline as a subproject to your current project when you want to relate it as a child collection of items in the project.

PRIVILEGES: Attach Project as Sub Project, Attach Baseline as Sub Project.

To attach a project or baseline as a subproject:

  1. In the My Current Project navigation window, right-click the Sub-Project node and select Attach.

  2. Select Project or Baseline.

  3. Enter the specification of the project or baseline for which the current project becomes the parent, or click the browse button and select the project or baseline.

  4. If required, enter the Folder Offset, or relative path to use for item files in relation to the root folder for your current project.

  5. Click OK.

To detach a project or baseline from your current project:

  1. In the My Current Project navigation window, expand the Sub-Project node.

  2. Right-click the project or baseline and select Detach.

  3. Click OK.

Relate project to items or requests

You can relate a project to other objects such as items or requests.

PRIVILEGES Relate Requests to Project

To relate a project to items or requests:

  1. In your Product Catalog or User Inbox, click the Projects/Streams node.

  2. In the content window, select a project/stream.

  3. Select Project > Relate/Unrelate.

  4. In the Manage Relationships dialog box, in the Specification column, select the node for the object class you want to relate, and click Add.

  5. In the Relationship dialog box, click Find to search for the objects you want to relate.

    For details on how to select external requests, see Select requests (different providers).

  6. Select one or more objects you want to relate, and click OK.
  7. For Relationship Type, select the relationship type. For Direction, select the relationship direction.

  8. Click OK.
