Create and use object filters
Create filters to limit the number of objects displayed in the content window, based on your search criteria.
Create object filter
In the desktop client, you can create a filter when you search for objects using the Find feature. A filter contains search criteria based on which Dimensions CM locates and displays objects, such as items, requests, or baselines.
To create a filter:
-
In the desktop client, select Edit > Find, and select the object type. For example, to create a filter for baselines, select Edit > Find > Baselines.
-
In the Find dialog box, specify the filtering criteria. For details, see the following topics:
Find Baseline dialog box Filter baselines. Find Customer dialog box Filter customers. Find Item dialog box Filter items. Find Release dialog box Filter releases. Find Request dialog box Filter requests. Find Secondary Request dialog box Filter requests from the Secondary Catalog. Find Project/Stream dialog box Filter project/streams. Find Design Part dialog box Filter design parts. -
On the General tab, click Create next to the Filter Sets list.
-
In the dialog box that opens, enter a name for the new filter set, select the Based upon current set option, and click OK.
The new filter is added to the Filter Sets list in the Find dialog box.
-
To save the filter, click Save next to the Filter Sets list.
-
Click Close.
View filtered objects
The filters you created are displayed in the My Filters node under Reports and Lists.
For details about the Reports and Lists view, see Use reports and lists.
