Find Item dialog box

In the Find Item dialog box, search for items and create or modify item filters.

Use the Find objects: Options tab to limit the search by specifying a lifecycle status and user role.

Use the Fin Item: Options tab to limit the search by specifying a file size.

Use the Relationships tab to limit the search by specifying item relationships.

Use the Dates tab to limit the search by specifying a creation date or modification date.

Use the Attributes tab/page to limit the search by specifying attributes.

Use the Find Now tab to view the search results.

General tab

On the General tab, specify general item information to limit the search.

Field Description

Filter sets

Select a saved filter.

When you select a filter, the fields on the tabs are populated with the search criteria that you saved for that filter.

To clear all values, click Reset.

Save button

Click to save the filter that is displayed in the Filter Sets list.

This button is enabled only if you have made changes to filter values in the Find dialog box.

Create button

Click to create a new filter.

Enter a name for the filter. To create a filter based on the values already set in the Find dialog box, select the Based Upon Current Set option.

Remove button Click to delete the filter that is displayed in the Filter Sets list.

Product

Select the product ID.

Note: The Find Item dialog is scoped by the current project/stream and therefore the Product selection only affects the results under the following circumstances:

  • If your current view is $GENERIC:$GLOBAL and you use the Product selector, the Find Now tab lists items for the selected Product only.

  • If your current view is a particular project/stream, and items have been imported to that project/stream from another product, the Find Now tab includes those imported items if you select the product they were imported from (because they are still owned by that product).

Project/Stream Select a project or stream from the list.

Type

Select an item type.

You can use wildcards:

  • Use an underscore (_) to match exactly one character. For example, d_g matches dog or dig.

  • Use a percent sign (%) to match any number of characters. For example, d%g matches dog or drag or dreaming.

ID Enter the item ID. You can use wildcards.
Variant Enter an item variant. You can use wildcards.
Format Enter an item format. You can use wildcards.
Branch Select a named branch.
Revision Enter a revision number.
Project Folder Enter the item project/stream folder name. You can use wildcards.
Project Filename Enter the item project file name. You can use wildcards.
Case-sensitive search Select to make your search criteria case-sensitive.
Latest revision Select to find only the latest item revisions.
Description Enter text to find in the item description. You can use wildcards.
