Object specification

Every object in Dimensions CM has an object specification that uniquely identifies it. You can view the object specification when you perform various operations with objects.

For some operations, you can enter the object specification.

To specify objects, use the following syntax:

Object type	Specification
Design part	productID:partID.variant;pcs
Item	productID:itemID.variant–itemType;revision
Dimensions CM request	productID_requestType_number
External request	requestProviderID:requestID
Project	productID:projectID
Stream	productID:streamID
Baseline	productID:baselineID
Release	productID:releaseID
Customer	customerID
Requirement	class_name.puid;objId
