Create request filters

Web client: You can create filters to narrow down the list of displayed requests from different request providers. For example, you can choose to display requests with a particular status or owned by a particular user.

Create request filter

Using a request filter, you can view only those requests that match your filter criteria.

To create a request filter:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, from the Filter list, select New Filter. The New Request Filter dialog box opens.

  4. Enter the criteria for including requests in the filter.

    Note: Fields are not case-sensitive. Wildcards are not supported.

    Field Description
    Filter name Enter a name for the filter. Use up to 32 characters.
    Any text field

    (Optional) Enter a word, phrase, or any text string that a request must contain in any of its fields.

    The search looks through requests in the relevant provider instance, enabling the provider's native full-text search.

    Name (ID) (Optional) Enter the request ID.
    Title (Optional) Enter a word, phrase, or any text string that a request's title must contain.
    Type (Optional) Specify the request type, for example, User Stories. The request types are defined in your request provider instance.
    Status (Optional) Enter the request status, for example, New.
    Author (Optional) Enter the ID of the user who created the request.
    Owner (Optional) Enter the ID of the user who owns the request.
  5. Click OK.

Edit or delete request filter

You can change or remove existing request filters.

To edit or delete a request filter:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. From the Filter list, select the filter you want to edit or remove.

  4. To edit the filter, select Edit Current Filter from the Filter list. In the Edit Request Filter dialog box, change the filter criteria as needed, and click OK.

  5. To delete the filter, select Delete Current Filter from the Filter list.
