Create and use object filters

Create filters to limit the number of objects displayed in the content window, based on your search criteria.

Create object filter

The web client includes filters for common operations, such as finding all items, requests, or baselines in your inbox. But you can create your own filters.

To create a filter:

  1. In the web client, open the view for the object for which you want to create a filter. For example, to create a filter for baselines, select the Baselines tab.

  2. At the top right of the content pane, from the Filters list, select New Filter.

  3. On the General tab, in the Filter Name field, enter a name for the filter.

  4. Specify the filtering criteria. For details, see the following topics:

New/Edit Request Filter dialog box Filter requests.
New/Edit Item Filter dialog box Filter items.
New/Edit Project or Stream Filter dialog box Filter project/streams.
New/Edit Baseline Filter dialog box Filter baselines.
  5. For some objects, you can search for objects by specifying attribute values:

    1. On the General tab, select the object type from the Type field.

    2. Select the Attributes tab, and enter or select values.

  6. Click OK.

The new filter is now displayed in the Filters list.
