Manage ownership of requests

You can delegate or request the ownership of Dimensions CM requests. To change the ownership, requests must be owned by a Dimensions CM site.

Delegate ownership

You can delegate the ownership of a Dimensions CM request to another Dimensions CM site to be able to update the request.

When you delegate a Dimensions CM request, the ownership is assigned during the next replication run that includes your site.

PRIVILEGES: Perform replication operations.

Replication must be enabled for your site in the Administration Console > Distributed Development > Network Administration.

To delegate ownership of requests:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, select one or more requests.

  4. On the toolbar, click More , and select Replication Options > Delegate Ownership.

  5. In the Delegate Owning Site list, select the site.

  6. Click OK.

To cancel delegated ownership for requests:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, select one or more requests.

  4. On the toolbar, click More , and select Replication Options > Cancel Ownership Delegation.

  5. Click Yes.

Request ownership

You can request the ownership of a Dimensions CM request for your own site if you need to update the request.

When you request ownership, its is assigned during the next replication that includes your site.

PRIVILEGES: Update Request.

Replication must be enabled for your site in the Administration Console > Distributed Development > Network Administration.

To request the ownership of requests:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, select one or more requests.

  4. On the toolbar, click More , and select Replication Options > Take Ownership.

  5. Click Yes.

To cancel the ownership:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, select one or more requests.

  4. On the toolbar, click More , and select Replication Options > Cancel Ownership.

  5. Click Yes.
