Delegate requests

Delegate a Dimensions CM request to assign it to another user.

Note: To delegate external requests, reassign them in the relevant request provider instance, for example, OpenText ALM Octane or Atlassian Jira.

When you delegate a Dimensions CM request, you change the role assignments for it. You can also delegate the request to another Dimensions CM site.

Guidelines and requirements:

  • To delegate a request, you need the Delegate Request privilege.

  • The users that can delegate requests are defined in the Administration Console > Users and Roles > Role assignments. For details, see Set up the process model.

  • The request must be owned by your site.

To delegate a Dimensions CM request:

  1. In the web client, open the Requests view.

  2. Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

  3. In the content pane, select one or more requests.

  4. On the toolbar, click Delegate .

  5. In the Delegate wizard, specify the following details:

    Field Description
    Role to delegate Select from the available roles on the Dimensions CM request.
    Capability

    To set the level of responsibility for the role, select Leader, Primary, or Secondary.

    Available users

    To assign users, select one or more users in the Available Users list, and click Assign >.

    CTRL+click or SHIFT+click to select multiple users.

    To replace currently assigned users, select one or more users in the Available Users list, and click Replace.

    Assigned users

    To remove an assigned user, select the user in the Assigned Users list, and click < Remove.

    To replace currently assigned users, select one or more users in the Assigned Users list, and click Replace.

    Delegate related items (Optional) Select this option to delegate the items related to the Dimensions CM requests.
  6. Click Next.

  7. Review the summary and click Finish.
