Edit requests
You can edit the description, attributes, and relationships of Dimensions CM requests in your inbox if the requests are owned by your site. The rules defined in the Administration Console determine whether you can edit a request at any state in its lifecycle.
Note: To edit external requests, use the relevant request provider, for example, OpenText ALM Octane or Atlassian Jira.

Edit a request description
You can edit the detailed description of a Dimensions CM request.
PRIVILEGES: Add/edit detailed description.
To edit a request description:

In the web client, open the Requests view.

Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

Select a Dimensions CM request in the content pane, and click Open on the toolbar. The Open Request dialog box opens.

On the General tab, update information in the Detailed Description field.
Note: To ensure that files are encoded and edited without character loss, the description must consist of characters matching the locale of the client operating system.

Click Save.
Edit a request action description
You can edit the action description of a Dimensions CM request.
PRIVILEGES: Add/edit
detailed description.
To edit a request action description:

In the web client, open the Requests view.

Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

Select a Dimensions CM request in the content pane, and click Edit Action Description on the toolbar.

In the Edit Action Description dialog box, update information in the Description field.
Note: To ensure that files are encoded and edited without character loss, the description must consist of characters matching the locale of the client operating system.

Click Save.
Edit a request attachment list
For a Dimensions CM request owned by your site, your can edit the list of files attached to the request.
PRIVILEGES: Update Request Attachments.
To edit a request attachment list:

In the web client, open the Requests view.

Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

Select a Dimensions CM request in the content pane, and click Open on the toolbar. The Open Request dialog box opens, displaying general details about the request.

To change the description of an attachment, in the File Attachments section, enter a new description.

To delete an attachment, click its Remove Row button.

To attach a file, click the Insert Row button and enter the file path. Or browse to select a file. Optionally, add a file description. By default, Dimensions CM adds the following description:
Attachment created <date> by <user ID>

To save the changes, click Save.
To save the changes and action the request to its next normal state, click Save & Action.
Edit request attributes
Your can set or change the attributes of Dimensions CM requests.
In addition, the attribute update rules defined in the Administration Console determine which attributes you can edit.
PRIVILEGES: Update Request.
Note: When you edit an attribute that is sensitive, which requires an electronic signature, you are required to enter your Dimensions CM password.
To edit request attributes:

In the web client, open the Requests view.

Display a list of requests by expanding the appropriate node in the navigation pane, for example, Catalog or Inbox.

Select a Dimensions CM request in the content pane, and click Open on the toolbar.

In the Open Request dialog box, select the Attributes tab.

Set the request's user-defined attributes. Required attributes are marked with a red exclamation point.

Click Save.
