Relate project to other objects

You can relate a project/stream to a baseline or another project.

Attach a project or baseline as subproject

Attach a project or baseline to your current project as a subproject when you want to relate it as a child collection of items in the project.

PRIVILEGES: Attach Project as Sub Project, Attach Baseline as Sub Project.

To attach a project or baseline as a subproject:

  1. In the My Current Project view, in the navigation pane, select the Sub-Projects node.

  2. On the toolbar, click Attach , and select project or baseline.

  3. In the Attach dialog box, specify the project or baseline, or browse to select it.

  4. In the Relative Path field, enter the path to use for item files from the project or baseline you are relating to. The path is relative to the root folder of the current project.

  5. Click OK.

To detach a project or baseline from your current project:

  1. In the My Current Project view, in the navigation pane, expand the Sub-Projects node.

  2. Select the project or baseline and click the detach button and select project or baseline.

  3. Click OK.

Relate project to other objects

You can relate a project to an object such as request, baseline, or another project.

PRIVILEGES: Relate Requests to Project.

To relate a project to other objects:

  1. In the Projects or Streams view, select a project/stream.

  2. On the toolbar, click Relate and select the object to relate to: request, baseline, or project.

  3. In the Relate dialog box, specify the baseline, request or project to relate to, or browse to select the object.

  4. Baselines and projects: In the Relative Path field, enter the path to use for item files from the baseline or project you are relating to. The path is relative to the root folder of the current project.

  5. Click OK.
