Assign deployment areas
Assign a deployment area to a project/stream to copy the item files to that area when the item revisions have reached the corresponding stage in the GSL.
If you assign an area as the default, the files are automatically deployed when the item revisions are promoted to the stage.
Web client: Assign deployment area
Assign deployment areas to your current project/stream in the Dimensions CM web client. You can edit or remove existing assignments for a deployment area.
PRIVILEGES: Assign Deployment Areas to Project/Stream.
To assign a deployment area:

In the web client, in the My Current Project/Stream view, select the Deployment Areas node in the navigation pane.

Click the Assign button. The Assign Area to the Current Project dialog box opens.

Specify the following options:
Field Description Area Select an area from the list. File path relative to area directory (Optional) Enter the relative path to use as the root folder for the project. Deploy by default Select this option to automatically deploy files to this area when the item revisions are promoted or demoted to this stage. Audit filter
Select a filter from the list, or use the default filter assigned to the deployment area. For details about audit filters, see Deployment area filters.
Caution: Make sure not to confuse audit filters with area filters. For details on how to use these filters correctly, see Set up the process model.
Sequence order
Enter a sequence for the order in which you want to run deployments to this area, or use the default order.
For details about the rules for deployment sequences, see Set deployment sequence.
Populate area with project/stream contents Select this option if you want the appropriate item files to be copied to the area as soon as the project has been assigned to it. -
Click OK.
To edit or remove a deployment area assignment:

In the web client, in the My Current Project/Stream view, select the Deployment Areas node in the navigation pane.

Expand the relevant Stage node. In the content pane, select a deployment area.

To modify the assignment, click the Edit Assignment button. In the Edit Assignment dialog box, update the options and click OK.

To remove the assignment, click the De-assign button. In the dialog box that opens, select Remove files deployed from this stream if you want to keep the item files in the location after the assignment is removed. Click Yes.
Desktop client: Assign deployment area
Follow these procedures to assign deployment areas or remove assignments in the Dimensions CM desktop client.
PRIVILEGES: Assign Deployment Areas to Project/Stream.
To assign a deployment area:

In the desktop client, in the My Current Project/Stream window, right-click the Deployment Areas node and select Assign area to project/stream. The Assign an Area to the Current Project/Stream dialog box opens.

Select the area from the Area list.

Select an audit filter from the Filter list, or use the default filter assigned to the deployment area. For details about audit filters, see Deployment area filters.

(Optional) in the File path relative to area directory field, enter the relative path to use as the root folder for the project/stream.

To automatically deploy files to this area when the item revisions are promoted or demoted to this stage, select Deploy by default.

To run deployments to this area in a particular order when there are other deployment areas for this project/streams, enter a Sequence order. Or use the default order. For details about the rules for deployment sequences, see Set deployment sequence.

If you want the appropriate item files to be copied to the area as soon as the project/stream has been assigned, select Populate area.

Click OK.
To remove a deployment area assignment:

In the desktop client, in the My Current Project/Stream window, expand the Deployment Areas node.

Expand the relevant Stage node, right-click the area, and select De-assign area from project/stream.

To keep the item files in the location after the assignment is removed, select Remove files deployed from this project/stream.

Click Yes.
