Monitor Credentials Manager
The Monitor Credentials Manager lets you save, share, and manage the credentials used to connect to external monitoring tools. You can use it on the Controller machine to set up monitor graphs. You can also use it on the MOFW machine and on Windows load generators to set up monitoring over a firewall.
Supported monitors
You can use the Monitor Credentials Manager to manage credentials for the following monitors.
- AppDynamics monitor
- Azure Insights monitor
- Datadog monitor
- Dynatrace SaaS and Dynatrace Managed monitors
- Prometheus monitor
- Splunk monitor
Add a profile
Add a profile containing credentials to connect to a monitor. You can add multiple profiles for each monitor type.
To add a profile:
- In the Windows Start menu, open the Monitor Credentials Manager.
- Click Add profile.
- Select a monitor type from the list and click Add.
- Enter a name for the profile.
- Enter the information required to connect to the monitor.
- Click Test Connection.

If the connection is successful, click Save.
Note: When editing an existing profile, you must test the connection again before you can save your changes.
Import and export profiles
Import and export profile information as an XML file.
To import profiles:
- In the Windows Start menu, open the Monitor Credentials Manager.
- Click Import.
- Select an XML file to import and click Open. The profiles are imported.
To export profiles:
- In the Windows Start menu, open the Monitor Credentials Manager.
- Select the profiles you want to export.
- Click Export. The profiles are exported as an XML file.
