Performance Test Designer window

This topic describe how to define a performance test using the Performance Test Designer.

Open the Performance Test Designer

To open the Performance Test Designer window:

  1. From the LoadRunner Enterprise navigation toolbar, click and select Test Management.

  2. In the test management tree:

    • For a new test:

      Select a folder in which you want to create a test or create a new folder, and click New Test. Follow the steps in Create a test.

    • For an existing test:

      Select a performance test in the test management tree and click Edit Test. The Performance Test Designer window opens.

Define a test in the Performance Test Designer

This task describes how to define a performance test.

  1. Select a performance test in the test management tree and click Edit Test. The Performance Test Designer window opens.

  2. Define your performance test using the following tabs:

    Summary

    Displays a summary of the test. For details, see Summary view / Preview tab (Performance Test Designer).

    Groups & Workload

    Enables you to design a workload for the test, which includes selecting scripts for the test, scheduling how many Vusers to run in each script and for how long to run them, and defining a workload for the test. For details, see Groups and Workload tab (Performance Test Designer).

    Monitors

    Enables you to select monitors to monitor the test. For details, see Monitors tab (Performance Test Designer).

    Topology

    Enables you to associate a topology with the test. For details, see Topology tab (Performance Test Designer).

    Diagnostics

    Enables you to select a diagnostics module to collect diagnostics data from the test. For details, see Diagnostics.

    <Validation message>

    When you save the test, this message displays the test validation result. If there are errors or messages, a link to the test validation results is displayed.

    For details, see Test Validation Results dialog box.

  3. Click Save to save changes in each tab, or Save and Run save and then run the test. The Run Test dialog box opens, enabling you to run the test. For details, see Run a test.
