Vote on reviews

When you vote on a review, you approve it or request changes. Depending on the rules script used for the stream, your vote may trigger the rule script to move the review to its next state.

As an administrator, you can bypass reviewer voting to approve a review. For details, see Approve, abandon, or close reviews.

To vote on a review:

  1. On the top navigation bar, select a space from the spaces list.

  2. (Optional) To restrict the scope of the search, open a product or Git repository and then a stream/branch.

  3. On the sidebar, select Reviews.

  4. From the review list, open a review.

  5. On the review page, click Approve or Request Changes.

  6. Enter the reasons why you are voting to approve the review or requesting changes.

  7. (Optional) Format your comment. For details, see Markdown syntax reference.

To preview your comment, click Preview.

  8. If a check list is presented, select items that have influenced your voting decision.

  9. Click Approve or Request Changes.

Note: As an administrator, you can create review check lists and set the default for each product. For details, see Create review check lists.

You can also abstain from voting. Use this option when the review rule mandates that all reviewers must vote, but you have no opinion.

To abstain from voting:

  1. On the review page, in the upper-right corner, click More, and select Abstain with No Opinion.

  2. Enter a reason for abstaining and click Abstain.
