Browser policy settings

To enable testing web applications, the OpenText Functional Testing Agent browser extension must be installed on your browsers.

UFT Developer 23.4, 24.2, and 24.4: The extension is named OpenText UFT Agent.

Versions 2023 and earlier: The extension is named Micro Focus UFT Agent.

Your browser policies must allow this browser extension installation. You only need to allow the installation of this one specific extension on each browser you want to test. Browser policies can be configured by the installation program, or you can adjust them manually yourself. For details, see the OpenText Functional Testing Configuration screen.

Caution: Make sure that your company's security policies permit you to make this change.

The installation option that controls the browser policy update:

Set Chrome, Chromium Edge, Firefox options

This option is available on versions 2021 and later.

This option updates your browser policies and adds the OpenText Functional Testing Agent extension to your browsers' allowlist or installation list.

This enables automatic installation the extension in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
