Data Format and MIME Types main window

This topic describes the areas and options of the Data Format and MIME Types section in the Administration Console.

About the main window

The Data Format and MIME Types main window contains the following areas:

Menu area Contains the toolbar for adding, editing, or deleting data formats.
Content area Displays a list of data formats. Includes a filter to restrict the list of displayed formats based on filtering criteria.

To open Preservation Policies, go to Administration Console > Configuration Object Management > Preservation policies.

Data Format and MIME Types toolbar

Use the Data Format and MIME Types toolbar to perform the following operations:

Button Description
Create a new data format.
Edit the selected data format.
Delete one or more data formats.

Data Format and MIME Types content area

The content pane displays a list of data formats added to the base database, and their details, including class, compression level, and MIME Type.

You can perform the following operations in the content pane:

  • Click a data format to edit its details and assign to object types.

  • To narrow down the data format list, click the Filter link at the top right of the screen, and set your filtering criteria. For details, see Filter data formats.

  • Display a summary of data formats as a separate HTML page to print or save.

  • Display a list of data formats as comma-separated values to save as a text file.

  • Sort the list of data formats by column headings. Click Select All  to select all the preservation policies on the page.
