Area Filters window

This topic describes the areas and options of the Area Filters section in the Administration Console.

About the Area Filters window

The Area Filters main window contains the following areas:

Menu area Includes the toolbar to help you carry out various tasks.
Navigation pane Enables you to view and select from the file filters in the base database.
Content pane Displays details about one or more selected file filters.
Status area Displays login details.

To open Area Filters, go to Administration Console > Distributed Development > Areas & Deployment > Area filters.

Area Filters toolbar

Use the Area Filters toolbar buttons to perform the following tasks:

Button Function
Create a new file filter.
Create a new area filter by copying the details from a selected filter.
Delete one or more selected area filters.

Area Filters navigation pane

The Area Filters navigation pane displays the area filters in the base database. It contains:

  • Base Database node. Displays the name of the base database. When selected, displays a list of area filters in the content pane.

  • Area filter nodes. When selected, displays comprehensive details for a specific area filter in the content pane.

Area Filters content pane

The content pane of the Area Filters tab, with the base database node selected, contains the following information:

Field Description
Filter ID The name that identifies the area filter.
Creation Date The date the filter was created.
Originator The user ID of the user who created the filter.

The Area Filters content pane with a selected area filter includes the following sections:

  • A General section that contains the following information:

    Field Description
    Filter ID The name that identifies the area filter.
    Creation Date

    The date the filter was created.

    Created By The user ID of the user who created the filter.
  • An Excluded Selection Criteria section consisting of a toolbar and a table of details for the excluded selection criteria.

    Use the toolbar buttons to perform the following tasks:

    Button Function
    Add a selection criterion using the New Selection Criterion dialog box.
    Edit the selected selection criterion using the Edit Selection Criterion dialog box.
    Delete a selected selection criterion.
  • An Included Selection Criteria section consisting of a toolbar and a table of details for the included selection criteria.

    Use the toolbar buttons to perform the following tasks:

    Button Function
    Add a selection criterion using the New Selection Criterion dialog box.
    Edit the selected selection criterion using the Edit Selection Criterion dialog box.
    Delete a selected selection criterion.
