Data and analytics

This release includes the following data and analytics enhancements.

Area Enhancement
Observability support

This release introduces an integration with OpenTelemetry, providing observability support. The integration enables you to push telemetry data to an OpenTelemetry Collector when running scenarios.

For details, see Observability metrics.

Splunk integration

This release introduces a bidirectional integration with Cisco Splunk APM. The integration enables Controller to push data from scenario runs to Splunk, and to receive and display monitoring metrics collected by Splunk.

For details, see Integration with Splunk and Splunk monitor.

Load testing and modeling

This release includes the following load testing and modeling enhancements.

Area Enhancement
Smart Vuser distribution

The following enhancements are available for Smart Vuser distribution.

  • Smart Vuser distribution is now available for scenarios in By Number mode (Vuser group mode).
  • You can now select multiple load generators to assign to a script or Vuser group when Smart Vuser distribution is enabled.

For details, see Execution tab.

SLA dynamic transaction selection

When defining an SLA, you can now add transactions that are dynamically generated by the script at runtime.

For details, see Select Transactions page.

Data Hub

When running load tests using the Data Hub and Web Connector, scripts are now transferred from Controller to load generators directly through the Web Connector. This allows the scripts to be transferred with greater efficiency fully within the Data Hub context, without the need for MI Listener or a direct TCP connection.

For details, see Data Hub and Web Connector setup.

Ubuntu support

Linux load generator installation is now supported on Ubuntu Server Linux 24.04 LTS.

Integrations and ecosystem

This release includes the following integrations and ecosystem enhancement.

Area Enhancement
Monitor Credentials Manager

The new Monitor Credentials Manager enables you to save, share, and manage the credentials used to connect to external monitoring tools.

For details, see Monitor Credentials Manager.

AWS Secrets Manager

The new integration with the AWS Secrets Manager supports use of the AWS service to retrieve secrets such as authentication credentials for your scripts.

For details, see Working with AWS Secrets Manager in the VuGen Help Center.

Modernization

This release includes the following modernization enhancements.

Area Enhancement
Windows Resources monitor IPv6 support

The Windows Resources monitor now supports machines using IPv6.

For details, see Add Machine dialog box.

Run CLI tool without UI

The CLI tool includes a new parameter -SilentMode. This enables you to invoke a scenario run with the UI hidden.

For details, see Run scenarios using the CLI tool.

VuGen and protocols

Virtual User Generator (VuGen) includes the following enhancement. For details, see the VuGen What's New.

Area Enhancement
FIPS-compliant encryption You can now encrypt text in Vuser scripts using FIPS-compliant AES-256 encryption.

VuGen protocols include the following enhancements. For details, see the VuGen What's New.

Area Enhancement
TruClient 2.0 - Web

The TruClient 2.0 - Web protocol now has full availability, and includes the following updates:

  • Support for:

    • Linux Ubuntu load generator on Docker

    • IP spoofing and TC.getUserIP() function (on Windows)

    • Non-standard file upload

    • Global function library for both Windows and Linux Ubuntu

  • You can now use the TruClient script converter to convert TruClient - Web scripts on other OpenText performance engineering solutions to TruClient 2.0 - Web format.

TruClient - Web

The following updates are included for TruClient - Web scripts:

  • TruClient Browser equivalent to Firefox version 130.

  • TruClient scripts support Chromium browser version 129.

DevWeb

The following updates are included for the DevWeb protocol:

  • When using the option to Group concurrent requests for the Offline Script Generator, you can now extend the default timeframe duration, to include or exclude requests from concurrent groups.

  • You can configure the WebSocket buffer to be generated as a function instead of a const string.
  • In Runtime Settings, you can configure whether canonical form is used for HTTP request headers in a script.

  • Improved correlation detection for script generation.
  • Support for IPv6 addresses. You can use the DevWeb SDK getIPList function to return IPs for version 4, 6, or both.

Oracle

The following updates are included for Oracle protocols:

  • Improved iferror handling using the retry interval received from the server.
  • Timer expiration can be handled by sending a terminate command, or by allowing the script to continue running.

These options are configured on the Client Emulation page in the runtime settings.

Web - HTTP/HTML

The following updates are included for the Web - HTTP/HTML protocol:

  • The web_custom_request function now includes a ResponseTime attribute, supported in C and JavaScript. This metric expands performance testing capabilities, including load testing for Large Language Model (LLM) engines.

  • MPEG-4 file format version 2 is supported for streaming media during recording and replay.

  • IPv6 is supported when recording scripts using the Listening IP option.

  • You can now configure the following options in the UI:

    • VTS port forwarding settings.

    • Turn off target server info caching.

    • Allow insecure renegotiation for legacy SSL implementations.

    • Use the CNG engine when replaying the script, instead of the default CAPI engine.

Citrix

Citrix protocol now supports Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2402 (build version CU1_1100), and the corresponding Workspace version (full installer, build version 24.2.1000.1016).

SAP GUI

Auto logon is now supported using the SAP UI Landscape XML file.

64-bit replay

The following protocols now support replay on 64-bit architecture:

  • Oracle - Web

  • Oracle NCA

  • SAP Web

  • RDP

  • Windows Sockets (WinSock)

OpenText™ Performance Engineering for Developers (LoadRunner Developer) includes the following enhancements. For details, see the What's new.

Area Enhancement
ScalUP

When using ScalUp (previously ScaLRD) with OpenText™ Enterprise Performance Engineering (LoadRunner Enterprise), you can now define hosts attributes for the automatic host selection.

Use alternative scenario.yml You can now define alternative scenario.yml files to use for script replay. You pass the location of the alternative file to use for the script from the command line.
