What's new in LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1

LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1 contains the following new features and enhancements.

Project upgrades

We’ve added the ability to easily upgrade projects that were migrated to LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 from ALM, or that were created in LoadRunner Enterprise 2020, to LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1. For details, see Upgrade projects to a new version.

Note: The installation process for LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1 differs from previous upgrades and installations. You can install LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1 as a clean installation, or as a service pack over LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 (the installation process is the same for both). You can also migrate projects in ALM 12.60 directly to LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1. For details, see the LoadRunner Enterprise Installation Guide.

High availability support

Added support for installing and running LoadRunner Enterprise on a single node cluster. For details, see the LoadRunner Enterprise Installation Guide.

Cloud improvements

Added support for event logs which display the events that occur in creating the cloud account and the severity of each event. For details, see View or edit cloud account details.

Fully containerized deployment

Use the dockerized LoadRunner Enterprise server, Controller, and load generator images available in LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1, together with your database image, to deploy LoadRunner Enterprise 2020 SP1 as a fully dockerized environment. For details, see Deploy LoadRunner Enterprise as a fully containerized environment.

Note: This feature is provided as a tech preview version.

Alerts

Added support for alerts and the LoadRunner Alerts Service. For details, see Activate alerts.

Timeslot enhancements

We've made the following enhancements to timeslots:

  • You can link tests with Elastic (Cloud and Docker) load generators to a timeslot.

  • You can save a timeslot with a Controller and without an assigned test.

For details, see Create a timeslot.

System Health

Added the ability to cancel a system health check. This is useful if an error is found early on in the checks (where you have many hosts), and you do not want to wait for the system checks to finish. For details, see Perform a system health check.

Host attributes Added the ability to create, modify, and delete host attributes. Hosts attributes are used to represent properties about your hosts that help differentiate hosts when using them for performance testing. For details, see Customize load generator attributes.
Audit logs

Added support for Audit logs, enabling you to view a list of changes made to test entities. For details, see View log files.

Event logs

Added support for LoadRunner Enterprise server event logs. For details, see View server details, events, processes, and status.

Coded Test

The Coded Test feature provides a solution that enables you to view and modify tests in XML format, making it easier to make changes directly to your tests.

This feature includes auto-complete to help you select parameters, a Command Palette with frequently used functionality, and a comparison tool that displays the changes you have made. For details, see View or edit a test in XML mode (Coded test).

Note: This feature is provided as a tech preview version.

DevWeb script enhancements

Added support for DevWeb Runtime Settings and for DevWeb scripts to display snapshots on error. For details, see DevWeb runtime settings and Upload and run DevWeb scripts.

UI color theme

Set the color theme for the LoadRunner Enterprise Administration user interface by choosing between standard (light) and dark mode. For details, see Set the color theme.

Browser support

Added support for Microsoft Edge browser, version 79 and later. For the list of supported browsers, see the System Requirements.

Note: This feature is provided as a tech preview version.
