Data Pane (GUI Testing)

For details about the API testing Data Pane interface, see Data Pane (API Testing). For details about the BPT Data pane interface, see Data Pane (BPT in UFT One).

Relevant for: GUI tests and scripted GUI components

Insert data table parameters and output values to your test to create a data-driven test or action that runs several times using the data you supply.

Use the Data pane in the same way as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, including inserting formulas into cells.

To Access
  1. Ensure that a GUI test, action, or component is in focus in the document pane or selected in the Solution Explorer.

  2. Select View > Data.

Important information

Right-click anywhere in the Data pane to access menus and commands.

Rows and columns

  • Each row in the table represents the set of values that UFT One submits for the parameterized arguments during a single iteration of the test or action.

The first row contains the parameter names.

  • Each column in the table represents the list of values for a single parameterized argument.

The data table displays only columns with a parameter name in the first row and one additional empty column in which you can add a new parameter.
