Summary view / Preview tab (Performance Test Designer)

You can view a detailed summary of a selected performance test in the Summary view and Preview tab.

Open the Performance Test Designer

This task describes how to access the Performance Test Designer.

From the Summary view:

  1. From the LoadRunner Enterprise navigation toolbar, click and select Test Management (under Testing).

  2. Select a performance test in the test management tree and click Edit Test.

  3. In the Performance Test Designer window, click Summary.

From the Preview tab:

  1. From the LoadRunner Enterprise navigation toolbar, click and select Test Management (under Testing).

  2. Click a performance test in the test management tree.

    The Preview tab opens. For details, see View or edit tests and test runs.

  3. Click Edit Test to open the test in the Summary view to modify test details.

General Details Pane

The General Details pane displays general summary information about the test.

User interface elements are described below (unlabeled elements are shown in angle brackets):

UI Elements

Description

Edit Test. Opens the Performance Test Designer window where you design performance tests. For details, see Performance Test Designer window.

Note: Available in Test Plan Preview tab only.

Run Test.

  • If the selected test is assigned to a single test set, then the Run Test dialog box opens.
  • If the selected test is assigned to more than one test set, or if the selected test is not assigned to a test set, then the Assign and Select Test Set dialog box opens. Select a test set and click Run. The Run Test dialog box opens.

Test name (Id)

The name (and ID) of the test.

Validation

Indicates whether the test is valid.

  • Indicates that there is an error in the test design.

  • Indicates that the test is valid and can run.

If the test is not valid or there are notifications about the test, the Details column displays a link to the Test Validation Results dialog box which lists errors and messages related to the test. For details, see Test Validation Results dialog box.

Last Modified Time and date the test was last modified date.
Workload Type

The workload type selected for the test.

Total Vusers

The number of Vusers defined in the test.

Topology

Indicates whether a topology is associated with the test, and if so, displays the relevant details.

Diagnostics

Indicates whether diagnostics are enabled for the test, and if so, displays the relevant details.

Monitors

Indicates whether monitor profiles are defined for the test, and if so, displays the relevant details.

IP Spoofer

Indicates whether IP spoofing is enabled for the test. For details, see Configure test options.

Controller/Load Generator

Displays the number of hosts selected for the test, and their properties.

Assign To

Opens the Assign and Select Test Set dialog box, enabling you to assign the selected test to an existing test set or to create and assign the test to a new test set, and then run it from the Run Test dialog box.

  • Assign Test Set. Click to create a new set assignment, or select an existing test set to assign it to in the Test Set tree.

    • New Folder. Click to create a new test set folder.

    • New Test Set. Click to create a new test set.

    • Delete. Click to delete the selected test set or test set folder.

  • Remove from Test Set. Click to remove the test set assignment.

  • Test Instance ID. The ID of the test instance linked to the timeslot.

  • Test Set. The name of the test set linked to the timeslot.

  • Test Instance Path. Path of the test instance.

  • Responsible. The user who assigned the test to the test set.

  • Assign. Assigns the test to the selected test set.

  • Assign and Run. Assigns the test to the selected test set and runs the test.

  • Run. Runs the test.

Groups Pane (Summary view only)

This pane displays details about the Vuser groups defined in the test.

User interface elements are described below:

UI Elements

Description

Group Name

The name of the Vuser group.

Script Name

The name of the Vuser script associated with the Vuser group.

Script Type

The Vuser script type.

Vusers #/%

The number/percentage of Vusers distributed to the Vuser group.

Related Monitors Pane (Summary view only)

This pane displays details about monitors (includes monitors over a firewall) associated with the test.

User interface elements are described below:

UI Elements

Description

ID

The ID of the related monitor or Monitor Over Firewall. Click the monitor link to display monitor details in the Monitor Profile Pane. Click the monitor over firewall link to display monitor details in the Monitor Over Firewall page.

Name

The name of the monitor associated with the test.

Type

The monitor type.

Last Modified

The last time that the associated monitor was modified.

Service Level Agreement Pane (Summary view only)

This pane displays service level agreements (SLAs) that are defined for the test.

Important information
  • You create, modify, and delete SLAs in the Summary tab.

  • In the Test Design tab you can only view a list of defined SLAs.

  • In the Preview tab you can only view a list of defined SLAs.
