Portfolio Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Portfolio Management module.

Filter and group backlog items by more fields

You can now filter and group portfolio backlog items by more types of fields, including radio button, checkbox, text area, and tag.

Backlog Board view enhancements

The Backlog tab's Board view is enhanced:

  • You can hide empty columns and swim lanes for a clearer data view.
  • Column totals are now displayed at the top of the board.

Backlog Roadmap view enhancements

The Backlog tab's Roadmap view now enables you to:

  • Configure the color for the Gantt chart bars to suit your preferences.
  • Configure which backlog item information is displayed as tooltip.

  • Export Roadmap view as an image.

Share portfolio layout settings

You can now share your personal layout settings on the Backlog and Financials tabs, making sure all stakeholders view the same portfolio with a consistent set of layout preferences.

Demand Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Demand Management module.

Add a custom tab to requests

You can now add a custom tab to a request type and configure the tab to allow users to do the following on the tab:

  • View a specific type of referenced requests.
  • Create new requests as references of a specific relationship type.

New validation component type: Tag

A new validation component type: Tag is added. You can add a Tag field to requests, which enables users to add tags as identifiers for a request.

Enhanced list fields on request details

With a refreshed look and feel, the drop-down and auto-complete lists on the request details page now provide more user-friendly experience.

To use this new feature, enable the Use New Drop-Down and Auto-Complete Lists feature toggle.

New dependency conditions for request type rules

Request type rules now includes two new dependency conditions: contains text and contains one or more of.

They help simplify your request rules by defining only one rule where multiple rules were needed before.

Administration enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Administration module.

Interface customization extended

You can now customize the PPM standard interface more extensively by:

  • Configuring colors for UI elements such as buttons and dialog box headings.
  • Applying your custom CSS code to override the default styling.

Use API keys as bearer tokens

When enabled as bearer tokens, API keys can be used directly in the REST authentication header.

Export dashboards to PowerPoint

You can now export the following to PowerPoint for data sharing and analysis:

  • Project overview
  • Program dashboard
  • Overview tab of portfolios
  • Overview tab of teams
  • Dashboard pages

Set password-policy parameters in Administration Console

You can now configure the following parameters in Administration Console to define user password constraints:

  • USER_PASSWORD_MIN_UPPERCASE_LETTERS
  • USER_PASSWORD_MIN_LOWERCASE_LETTERS

Enhanced support information generation

PPM enhances the kSupport tool in the Administration Console, providing a simplified and more efficient user experience for generating support information.

Dashboard enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Dashboard module.

Set any PPM page as desktop landing page

In addition to Dashboard pages, PPM administrators can now set any PPM page as the PPM desktop client landing page for specific user groups.

If permitted by the admin, individual users can set any PPM page as their default landing page on the PPM desktop client, overriding the landing page specified by the admin.

New display type for self-service portlet: Board

A new display type: Board is added for self-service portlets, enabling you to display data as cards on a board.

What-if Analysis enhancements

The following enhancements are added to What-if Analysis.

What-if template enhancements

What-if templates now provide enhanced flexibility for what-if analysis:

  • A new widget type: Indicator Chart is added, enabling you to display the aggregated value of a numeric field.
  • You can now add custom fields to the Ranking View component.

You can now share your what-if scenario with others for collaboration.

Report enhancements

The following enhancements are added to PPM reports.

New report types: PowerPoint and Word reports

Two new report types: PowerPoint report and Word report are introduced, giving you additional options to create PPM reports.

Notify user groups about completed reports

In addition to individual users, you can now send email notifications to groups of users about report completion.

Resource Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Resource Management module.

Copy specific requested resources when importing or copying positions

When you import or copy positions from another staffing profile, you can choose to also import the resources requested on these positions.

No longer filter resources by position role

When you search for resources to assign to a position, the position's role is no longer used as a default filtering criterion. This helps you find the target resource from more candidates.

This feature is enabled when the NO_INITIAL_ROLE_IN_RESOURCE_FINDER new parameter is set to true.

Time Management enhancement

When copying a time sheet, you can now choose whether to copy the time sheet's user data.

This feature is enabled when your administrator enables the Enable Copy Time Sheet Include User Data option feature toggle.

You can now use the My Time Sheets app to associate activities with time sheet work items.

Team Management enhancement

From the Demand tab of your team, you can view the assignment and capacity details of individual team members. This makes it easier for you to balance team demand and capacity.

PPM disallows time logging on disabled miscellaneous work items. The policy is now extended to the REST API calls.

Deprecation

The Use Tabs in Request Details Page feature toggle is deprecated. To replace the feature, PPM provides a more flexible solution that allows you to design the layout of request details per request type.

Note: If you already enabled the feature toggle before 24.1, the tab layout settings are preserved for the existing request types after the upgrade to 24.1.
