The following new features and enhancements are introduced in PPM 24.4.

Side navigation menu

This release introduces two independent sets of new designed SideNav menus for end users and admins respectively, providing easier navigation for all roles.

  • Separate SideNav menu entries for end users and admins, the main menu for end users and Administration menu for admins.
  • Both sets of SideNav menus are organized by product modules.

Demand Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Demand Management module.

Configure request header types from Web UI

You can now configure request header types from Web UI, without opening the workbench.

Configure request sections from Web UI

When configuring request type fields from Web UI, you can now move fields between sections, add new sections, and adjust section positions.

Specify related requests by reciprocal fields

When adding a request custom tab to display related requests, you can specify the relation by a reciprocal field.

Configure edit access for request types from Web UI

You can now configure which user groups can edit a specific request type from Web UI.

New filter on request search page

The new Request Field Change History Contains filter enables you to search for requests by keywords contained in field change history.

Real-time character count for text area fields

When you edit a text area field, it now shows the real-time character count compared to the character limit.

Customize menu from Web UI

You can now customize the menu from Web UI. This includes adding, editing, and moving menu items as well as exporting and importing the menu.

To use this feature, turn on the SideNav Menu feature toggle.

Platform enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Platform module.

Preview files before download

You can now preview attachments and server directory files before downloading them.

Docker install

You can now install and upgrade PPM in a Docker container from Docker images.

Run SQL queries on Oracle dictionary views

The SQL Runner now enables you to run queries against data dictionary views of your Oracle database.

Extended operating system support

This release now includes support for Amazon Linux version 2003.

Administration enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Administration module.

Custom corporate logo supports SVG files

A custom corporate logo now also supports .SVG files.

Feature toggle updates

You can now use the following new feature toggles to control the use of features:

  • Submit Reports Using Navigator: Enables or disables report submission by Navigator.

  • Export Dashboard to PowerPoint (PPTX): Enables or disables dashboard export to PowerPoint.

User import update

Protected uses now always remain active when you import users, regardless of whether the Import Users report disables existing users. This ensures that critical accounts, such as SaaS administrators, remain active and accessible after each import.

Propagate changes to existing programs

You can now configure a program type to propagate some Overview Layout changes to all existing programs of the type. The changes include:

  • Adding selected portlets to the programs.
  • Resetting the Overview Layout settings of the programs.

Resource Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Resource Management module.

Control notifications for withdrawn resource requests

You can now choose whether to send notifications when a resource request is withdrawn from a resource pool.

Search positions by staffing profile status

When managing forecast demand, you can now search for positions by the new Staffing Profile Status filter. This helps you focus on demand from specific staffing profiles.

Portlet enhancements

The following updates are added to portlets.

Options to customize data visualization in Self-service portlets

Self-service portlets now support customization of:

  • Tooltips for Sankey diagrams
  • Colors for cluster charts, stacked charts, pie charts, and donut charts

These options provide more flexibility for visualizing data to fit your needs.

New data source for Self-service portlets: Staffing Profile Statistics

You can now use the Staffing Profile Statistics data source to display demand and fulfillment data for staffing profiles or teams. This adds more flexibility for staffing profile and team analysis.

Request number becomes clickable in Self-service portlet grid view

If you use request type fields as the Self-service portlet data source, the Request No. field in the grid view now becomes clickable and opens the request details page.

Copy HTML+ portlet definitions under development mode

You can now copy HTML+ portlet definitions under both production and development modes. This lets you save a copy of the current definition before deploying new changes.

Personal preference updates

You can now set the following personal preferences:

Set homepage from My Links

The landing page is now renamed homepage and is set from the My Links list.

Set notification preferences

In the Edit My Profile page, notification options are categorized by modules and allow you to choose the events for which you want to get notified.

Show WBS in work plan

You can now view WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) information in the work plan Quick view, which helps you better understand task structure and project components.

To display this information, select the WBS column in the Quick view.

PPM - Jira integration update

When integrating work plan tasks with Jira projects, admins can now configure the Jira issue type from which to retrieve data for synchronization. This provides more flexibility in selecting the specific data to sync with work plan tasks.

New REST APIs

You can now use the following new REST APIs to manage time sheets:

REST API Description
POST/tm/timeSheets/{timesheetId}/actions/freeze Freezes a specific time sheet
POST/tm/timeSheets/{timesheetId}/actions/close Closes a specific time sheet.
